Community & Police
Interaction Program
The South Windsor Police are most willing and desirous of meeting with
individuals and groups in community for an exchange of ideas, information and feelings
concerning your Police Department.
We welcome the opportunity to provide speakers on topics listed below or
the subject of your choice.
Extensive studies have been conducted to determine the best manner in
which to combat crime. The most important concept to surface from these studies is
that of crime prevention and citizen participation. Police resources are limited and
the police cannot successfully combat crime without the support and assistance from the
community.
It is the goal of the South Windsor Police to contact as many of its
citizens as possible, to acquaint them with the role of the police department and involve
them in our crime prevention programs. Crime cannot prosper in a community where its
citizens are concerned, aware, and willing to become involved.
In general, we want to reach the elementary school child, the middle, High
school and college student, church and civic organizations, social agencies, minority
groups, businessmen and senior citizens.
May we please have the opportunity to meet and talk to you or your group?
Sincerely,
Gary K. Tyler
Chief of Police
